Australians chose Brisbane’s pitch as country’s best
Brisbane Roar’s Suncorp Stadium has the best pitch in the A-League. Professional Footballers Australia introduced a pitch rating system for the 2009/10 season, and asked all footballers to rate the playing surfaces.

Chinese footballer Zhang Yalin (28) dies
In China, former youth international Zhang Yalin has died at the age of 28. In 2003 the midfielder of Dalian Shide was selected for the Chinese under-23 team.
