FIFPro Division Americas consists of nine member associations: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and the USA. The division has one candidate member, Costa Rica. Rinaldo Martorelli is president of the board of Division America, the other members of the board are Carlos Soto, Rinaldo Martorelli, Fernando Revilla, Carlos Gonzalez Puche and David Paniagua.

FIFPro has invited Sebastián Yalle Vásquez to the FIFA Ballon d’Or. The 13-year old schoolboy from Peru earned a chance to meet the FIFA FIFPro World XI by sending in the best prediction in FIFPro’s Facebook competition.

Chile hosts second FIFPro Torneo América
For the second consecutive year FIFPro Division Americas will organize a FIFPro Tournament for players looking for a new contract. The Chilean footballers’ association SIFUP hosts the two-day event in Santiago.

The Peruvian union warns: ‘There is no salary cap’
The Peruvian football players association (SAFAP) is warning all players that a cap on wages does not exist. With this warning, SAFAP is trying to prevent Peruvian clubs putting pressure on the players to accept a salary cap.
