Expert assistance for Women’s Football Committee
Friday 30 July

Another step forwards, that's how the Women’s Football Committee regards the meeting which several members of this committee had with representatives of the Committees for Women’s Football of FIFA and UEFA.
In Düsseldorf, Germany, where the World Cup Football for women Under-20 is taking place, Suzanne Bakker and Kris Vis van Heemst from FIFPro’s Women’s Football Committee spoke with Vera Pauw and Susanne Erlandsson. Pauw is the technical director of women's football with the Russian football association RFS, a member of UEFA’s Women’s Football Committee and a member of FIFA’s Technical and Development Committee. Erlandsson is vice-chairwoman of the Swedish football association SvFF and among other things a member of FIFA’s Committee for Women’s Football.
FIFPro’s Women’s Football Committee is trying to analyse the current situation of professional women's football. As part of this initiative this committee has already distributed two questionnaires under the members of FIFPro. To obtain more information the committee called in the help of the experts Pauw and Erlandsson.
During the discussion the four women arrived at a plan to study professional football in the top fifteen countries of the FIFA women’s ranking in more detail; to gain a better insight into what is organized in these countries with regard to contracts, insurances and the payment of fees.
This information will enable FIFPro's Women’s Football Committee to further develop its own policy. The committee thinks that it will again make use of the knowledge of Erlandsson and Pauw and with the many contacts which Bakker and Vis van Heemst acquired in Düsseldorf thanks to them.
‘It was a really enjoyable meeting’, as committee member Suzanne Bakker looked back on the meeting with Erlandsson and Pauw. ‘Susanne and Vera have provided us with a great deal of information. This provides the committee with the possibility to move forwards.’
