Casillas and Villa in board Spanish union AFE
Thursday 09 September

AFE has announced that it will welcome two prolific new members in its board. Iker Casillas and David Villa have both given their word to join the executive committee of the Spanish footballers’ association.
Casillas and Villa are two mainstays in the Spanish national team that captured the World Cup in South Africa, this summer. Casillas is the goal keeper, team captain and he is second on the list of players with the most appearances in the Spanish national team. Villa is striker and second of the list of top goal scorers of the Spanish national team, trailing Raúl by just one goal.
AFE will introduce Casillas and Villa during the next meeting of the executive committee. ‘We express our satisfaction for presenting these players, who in addition to all the success they have brought to our game, have been involved with this organization in every way, and that they express their solidarity with fellow footballers, regardless of what division or club they represent.’
