‘We are here to help with any problem.’ Five players from FC Barcelona visited the new FIFPro House to meet representatives of professional footballers associations from all over the world.

Cesc Fabregas, Xavi Hernández, Gerard Piqué, Carles Puyol and Marc Bartra showed their solidarity during a unique question and answer session with union representatives. The five men talked about the work of the unions, helping to defend the rights of players in need, the ideal temperature to play football, technology at matches and of course the Spanish players’ strike in 2011.

Xavi Hernández: ‘We feel proud of the fact that we set an example. Not (only) us, but Spanish football, the way we have stood together at perhaps the most critical times. Above all, in the matter of the strike. The thing is that we are here to help with any problem, to be close to our fellow players, the people in our profession, whom we value very highly.’

‘We are privileged to be able to dedicate ourselves to football professionally. I think all of us football players have to be united, and we have to declare our solidarity more than ever. While seeing more clearly the way the world is.’

Below a video of the question and answer session and a video of a special tour of the FIFPro House of the five players with FIFPro secretary general Theo van Seggelen.
