Lucy Bronze and Lauren James received their 2024 FIFPRO Women’s World 11 trophies after being named in the players' team of the year last month.

A record-breaking 7,000 women’s players voted for their World 11. It is the only global player award decided exclusively by footballers.

Bronze and James were presented the newly redesigned World 11 trophies and framed shirts by a delegation from FIFPRO and the PFA. FIFPRO's Dr Alex Culvin (Director of Global Policy & Strategic Relations, Women's Football), Alejandro Varsky (Director of Communications) and Paul McFarlane (Union and Player Relations Officer) visited Chelsea’s training ground alongside PFA's Player Services Executive Victoria Williams.

Speaking last month, Bronze told FIFPRO: "It feels amazing to be in the FIFPRO World 11. It's voted for by your fellow players who you play with and against throughout the season, throughout the year, so it's always the most special [award]."

Bronze’s inclusion in the 2024 Women’s World 11 saw the defender equal the current women’s appearance record (7) she shares with France’s Wendie Renard. Bronze’s Chelsea team-mate James, meanwhile, made a second successive appearance.

England was the most represented nation in the 2024 edition with Lionesses Mary Earps, Alex Greenwood and Keira Walsh being selected by their fellow professionals along with Bronze and James.

A trophy that truly celebrates the collective

Bronze and James were presented with the new-look World 11 trophy that truly captures the collective spirit of the World 11.

Each individual trophy is an elegant representation of the number ‘1’, symbolising that each player is, in the eyes of their peers, the best in their position on the pitch. When all 11 trophies come together, they form a larger prize representing the entire World 11—celebrating the power of the team.

Designed by the award-winning studio xCruza at their Argentinian base, the trophies when gathered form an Abrazo de Gol (Goal Hug) embodying the essence of football: a single gesture where the team's spirit merges.
