FIFPro has formed an Advisory Board made up of respected female footballers which will play a key role in guiding FIFPro’s bid to improve working conditions for female professionals worldwide. Under the guidance of former Swedish international Caroline Jönsson, the Head of FIFPro’s Women’s Football Committee, this Advisory Board, which will continue to grow, aims to elevate the women’s game to even greater heights.

They members of the Advisory Board are:

  • Monica Gonzalez (Mexico)

Verónica Boquete

Verónica Boquete is a Spanish footballer (born 9 April 1987). She was captain of the Spanish team that participated in the 2015 Women’s World Cup. Verónica is currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain (France) after experiences in Spain, the USA, Sweden, Russia and Germany. She can play as an attacking midfielder or forward.

Rita Chikwelu

Rita Chikwelu is a Nigerian footballer (born 6 March 1988). She is a member of the Nigerian national team. Currently Rita is playing for Umeå IK FF (Sweden). Rita has also played in Finland. She mostly operates as a midfielder.

Caitlin Davis Fisher

Caitlin Davis Fisher is an American former player, who captained the Harvard women’s football team. She later played football at the professional level in Brazil, Sweden and the United States before cofounding the Guerreiras Project in Brazil. She is now a writer, ethnographer and football activist based in Berlin.

Mónica González is a former footballer, who was born in the United States (10 October 1978), but has represented the national team of Mexico 83 times. In 2011 she quit her career. Currently Mónica is working as a football analyst for ESPN.

Lotta Schelin

Lotta Schelin is a Swedish footballer (born 27 February 1984). She has made more than 160 appearances for the Swedish national team and holds the record for most goals scored for Sweden. Currently Lotta is playing for FC Rosengård. She has won a Champions League title with Olympique Lyonais. Lotta is a striker.

Kirsten van de Ven

Kirsten van de Ven is a former Dutch footballer (born 11 May 1985). She is a member of the national team, which she has represented more than 80 times. She has played in the USA and Sweden too. She used to be a midfielder.

Lydia Williams is an Australian footballer (13 May 1988). She is the goalkeeper of the Australian national team, the Matildas. Currently Lydia is playing for Houston Dash in the United States.
