All players should apply for membership of a national player association in their country of origin or in the country where they are playing their trade.
At this moment, not all FIFPro member associations are equipped to add female players to their membership. For that reason, FIFPro has established a framework that enables women to become direct members of FIFPro in order to amplify their collective voice and ultimately protect their rights in the workplace at both club and international level.
FIFPro has decided to create the aforementioned special opportunity, which must guarantee that the collective voice of the female players will be heard.
As a direct member, you can turn to FIFPro for guidance and (legal) expertise in protecting your rights as a professional footballer.
For more information, please contact FIFPro and click here.
Female players can already become a member of a local union in the following countries:
To contact one of the abovementioned unions, click here.
FIFPro will do its utmost to ensure that membership will be open for female players in every national player' union as soon as possible.
Players who become a direct member of FIFPro, authorise FIFPro to represent their collective interests on their behalf worldwide.
This FIFPro membership is free of charge for female players. As an additional investment in the women’s game, FIFPro will allocate 100 EUR to a fund for women’s football for every new member.
If you are a player from a country not listed above, you may apply for direct membership to FIFPro if you belong to one of the categories mentioned below:
- Professional player
- Player who is playing in the nation’s highest league
- National team player
