Brazil won the first edition of the FIFPro América Tournament. In the final in Santiago, Chile, Team Fenapaf beat one of the teams of hosts Chile, Team SIFUP 2. Argentina took the third place.

 

In a tense final, Brazil beat Chile 2 with 2-1. Nelson Aureliano was the most important player. The Brazilian midfielder scored both goals of Team Fenapaf, fnding the net in the 38th and 41st minute of the 60-minute match. Chile 2 tried to close the gap, but only managed to score in the closing minutes of the final. Francisco González made the goal.

 

In the bronze final, Argentina was much too strong for Chile 1: 3-0. Rodrigo Platero (16'), Carlos Alanis (34') and Gonzalo Santillán (53') scored the goals, while goalkeeper Dardo Ernesto Cortés kept his third clean sheet of the tournament.

 

Earlier Saturday Perú secured the fifth place of the Torneo FIFPro América by beating Uruguay 1-0.

 

During the awards ceremony, the following prizes were also distributed:
Fair Play Cup: Argentina
Best player: Agustin Cattaneo (Argentina)
Best goalkeeper: Dardo Ernesto Cortés ( (Argentina)
Topscorer: Nelson Aureliano (Brazil) en Francisco Huaiquipán (Chile 1), 3 goals
