Bjorn Kristensen was voted Best Player of the Year on Malta. The midfielder was one of five Hibernians players honoured at the gala of Maltese player union MFPA.

Kristensen, son of a Danish father and a Maltese mother, was the most influential player of champions Hibernians, according to his peers who participated in the vote organised by the MFPA. 22 percent of all players picked the 24-year old as the Best Player.

Kristensen was also included in the MFPA Best XI, as were three of his teammates, all Brazilians: defenders Marcelo Dias and Rodolfo Soares and midfielder Jackson Lima.

The fifth Hibernians player to receive a trophy was Jurgen Degabriele, who was chosen Best Young Player, while manager Mark Miller was named Best Coach.
