The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFPRO Women’s World 11, comprised of the most outstanding footballers from around the globe, will be revealed on Monday 9 December.
A record-breaking number of professional footballers have voted for their 2024 men’s and women’s team of the year, with 28,322 votes coming from 70 countries.
First established by FIFPRO in 2005, the World 11 has since celebrated the world’s leading players every year and is the only global football award decided exclusively by footballers.
This year marks a new era for the awards: the World 11 will be revealed digitally and winners will be individually presented with a new trophy in person. Further details will be shared in due course.

How does the voting work?
The World 11 is voted for by professional footballers from around the globe. FIFPRO and affiliated player unions distribute unique links that give players access to a digital voting platform.
Footballers pick the three players who, in their opinion, were the most outstanding in each of the following positions: goalkeeper, defence, midfield and forward.
The goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards with the most votes in their position make it into the World 11. The 11th spot is assigned to the outfield player with the next highest number of votes.
“The World 11 is almost better than being the best player. That might sound controversial, but the World 11 is solely voted for by the players and, to me, that’s the opinion that doesn’t necessarily matter the most, but it means the most.”
— by Lucy Bronze, FIFPRO Women's World 11

What period are the players judged on?
The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 is comprised of the top 11 men’s players from around the globe. Each position is based on their performances during the period from 21 August 2023 to 14 July 2024 inclusive. Players must have appeared in at least 30 official matches during that period to be eligible.
The FIFPRO Women’s World 11 is comprised of the top 11 women’s players from around the globe. Each position is based on their performances during the period from 21 August 2023 to 10 August 2024 inclusive. Players must have appeared in at least 20 official matches during that period to be eligible.
“Nothing beats being voted for by other players. When your peers recognise your quality, it means so much.”
— by Erling Haaland, FIFPRO Men's World 11

What happens next?
On Monday 2 December, FIFPRO will reveal the 26 men’s and women’s finalists who have received the most votes from their peers.
The winners – the 11 men’s and women’s players who have received the most votes from their fellow professionals – will be officially named in the 2024 FIFPRO World 11 on Monday 9 December on FIFPRO’s digital channels.
