World 11: Voted By Players, For Players
What is the World 11?
The FIFPRO Men's World 11 and FIFPRO Women’s World 11 are annual awards depicting the most outstanding footballers in the current game – voted by the players, for the players. The World 11 is the only global player award decided exclusively by footballers.

2025 FIFPRO Men’s World 11
Over 20,000 professional men’s football players from 68 countries voted for their team of the year.

2025 FIFPRO Women’s World 11
Over 6,000 women’s football players from around the globe voted for their world team of the year.

World 11: Trophy with a difference
What makes the World 11 trophy unique?
Each individual trophy is an elegant representation of the number ‘1’, symbolising that each player is, in the eyes of their peers, the best in their position on the field. When all 11 trophies come together, they form a larger prize representing the entire World 11—celebrating the power of the team.

World 11: Frequently Asked Questions

Last year, over 28,000 professional footballers from 70 countries voted for their World 11.

FIFPRO and affiliated player unions distribute unique links that give professional footballers access to a digital voting platform.
Players pick the three players who, in their opinion, were the most outstanding in each of the following positions: goalkeeper, defence, midfield and forward.

The goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards with the most votes in their position make it into the World 11. The 11th spot is assigned to the outfield player with the next highest number of votes.

No player has more FIFPRO World 11 appearances than Lionel Messi, who has made the global team of the year 17 times.

Since 2005, FIFPRO has invited the world’s professional footballers to choose their World 11. Explore World 11 legends through the years.
