FIFPRO appoints Marcus Keane as Chief Operating Officer

FIFPRO is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcus Keane as its new Chief Operating Officer, reinforcing the organisation’s leadership structure as it continues to implement its strategic transformation and governance renewal.
Marcus brings over 20 years of hands-on operational experience in the global sports industry, with a strong background in commercial strategy, brand development, and organisational leadership. His career includes work with leading organisations such as Nike, FC Barcelona Merchandising, AFC Ajax, and FIFA. Most recently, he served as Interim CEO of 2D Data Recording – a subsidiary of MYLAPS Sports Technology Group – and Interim Managing Director of MYLAPS North and Latin America.
Beyond his professional background, Keane has a long-standing passion for football. He is an active member of AFC Ajax and plays for the club’s veteran team.
This appointment follows other key leadership reinforcements at FIFPRO and reflects FIFPRO’s commitment to building a robust executive team capable of advancing its mission to protect and promote the interests and wellbeing of professional footballers worldwide.
"Joining FIFPRO is both a professional honour and a personal milestone," said Keane. "I’m excited to contribute to an organisation that plays such a critical role in the football ecosystem, and to help build the operational foundations needed to support players and their unions around the world."
FIFPRO Secretary General Alex Phillips said: "Marcus joins FIFPRO at an important time, as we continue to evolve our governance and strengthen our capacity to deliver for unions and players worldwide. His operational expertise, international perspective, and knowledge within football make him a key pillar of our new leadership structure. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team."
