Voting opens for players to decide 2025 FIFPRO World 11

• The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFPRO Women’s World 11 celebrate the most outstanding players in the current game
• Established by FIFPRO in 2005, the World 11 is the only global football award decided exclusively by professional footballers
• Last year over 28,000 players from 70 countries voted for their World 11

Voting has now opened for the 2025 FIFPRO World 11, football’s only global player award decided exclusively by footballers.

The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFPRO Women’s World 11 are comprised of the best footballers from around the globe – voted by the players, for the players.

Last year a record-breaking 28,000 professional footballers from 70 countries voted for their World 11.

How does the process work?

FIFPRO and affiliated players unions distribute unique links that give players from all professional football clubs access to a digital voting platform.

Footballers pick the three players who, in their opinion, were the most outstanding in each of the following positions: goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards.

The goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards with the most votes in their position make it into the World 11. The 11th spot is assigned to the outfield player with the next highest number of votes.

What is the period that players are judged on?

The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 is comprised of the best 11 men’s players from around the globe. Each position is based on their performances during the period from 15 July 2024 to 3 August 2025 inclusive. Players must have appeared in at least 30 official matches (at domestic top flight or international level) during that period.

The FIFPRO Women’s World 11 is comprised of the best 11 women’s players from around the globe. Each position is based on their performances during the period 11 August 2024 to 3 August 2025 inclusive. Players must have appeared in at least 20 official matches (at domestic top flight or international level) during that period.

What happens next?

After the voting period has finished, FIFPRO will release a list of finalists showing the players who have received the most votes for the FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFPRO Women’s World 11.

The 11 players who receive the most votes in their position are then selected for the World 11. The date when the World 11 will be revealed will be announced soon.
