CONMEBOL and FIFPRO join forces for a more inclusive game free from discrimination

• Both organisations will develop training initiatives and opportunities for footballers to help prevent and combat racism and discrimination
• The collaboration forms part of ‘El Respeto es Titular’, a CONMEBOL campaign promoting respect, inclusion and freedom from discrimination in South American football

CONMEBOL and FIFPRO are strengthening their collaboration to advance a joint agenda focused on education, prevention and raising awareness of racism and discrimination in South American football.

Both organisations will develop education and training programmes for footballers, alongside forums for dialogue that give players a voice in shaping initiatives to prevent and combat racism and discrimination.

These forums will help identify challenges, share lessons learnt and create more respectful and inclusive environments, both on and off the pitch.

The initiatives form part of the work of CONMEBOL’s task force to tackle racism, discrimination and violence in South American football, led by Ronaldo Nazário, Fatma Samoura and FIFPRO President Sergio Marchi. The task force has been developing policies, preventive measures and practical actions involving stakeholders across the region’s football community.

The collaboration also forms part of ‘El Respeto es Titular’ (Respect is a Starter), CONMEBOL’s campaign to raise awareness and promote respect and inclusion as fundamental values of South American football.

The partnership marks a further step towards turning these commitments into action, strengthening players’ involvement and promoting a culture in which respect is at the heart of the game.
