The FIFPRO Women’s World 11 has been revealed after a record-breaking 7,000 women’s football players voted for their team of the year.

England is the most represented nation in the 2024 Women’s World 11 with Lucy Bronze, Mary Earps, Alex Greenwood, Lauren James and Keira Walsh being selected by their fellow professionals. The presence of the five Lionesses means England (22) have now leapfrogged USA (20) as the leader in all-time Women’s World 11 country appearances.

Meanwhile, Bronze’s inclusion means the defender has now equalled the current women’s appearance record (7) she shares with France’s Wendie Renard.

Bronze told FIFPRO: "It feels amazing to be in the FIFPRO World 11. It's voted for by your fellow players who you play with and against throughout the season, throughout the year, so it's always the most special [award]."

'I’m grateful my peers voted for me'

The World 11 is the only global football award decided exclusively by the players. Since 2015, FIFPRO has invited women's football players to choose their World 11.

Making her second appearance in the World 11, Mary Earps said she was “grateful” that her peers selected her as the goalkeeper in the team of the year.

Earps said: "It’s lovely to be voted into the FIFPRO World 11. I'm pretty shocked, to be honest; I know that the players could have voted for a few goalkeepers who had a really good season.

"I didn't expect it but, of course, it's very nice. I'm very grateful that my peers – the people I play with and against – voted me into this position."

Similar to Earps, Alex Greenwood is also making her second World 11 appearance after being named in the 2023 team of the year.

Speaking of her back-to-back win, the defender said: "I'm really proud to make the FIFPRO World 11. To be nominated by your fellow players, not only who you play with but against, is special."
