- A record-breaking 7,000 women’s football players voted for their world team of the year
- Marta makes Women’s World 11 return; Lucy Bronze equals all-time women’s appearance record (7)
- The World 11 is the only global football award decided exclusively by the players
The FIFPRO Women’s World 11 has been revealed after a record-breaking 7,000 women’s football players voted for their team of the year.
England is the most represented nation in the 2024 Women’s World 11 with Lucy Bronze, Mary Earps, Alex Greenwood, Lauren James and Keira Walsh being selected by their fellow professionals; Bronze’s inclusion means the defender equals the current women’s appearance record (7) she shares with France’s Wendie Renard.
Brazilian star Marta makes her return to the team of the year for the first time since 2021, while Barbra Banda’s inclusion means the Zambian becomes the first African player to make the Women’s World 11.
Since 2015, FIFPRO has invited women's football players to choose their World 11. It is the only global player award decided exclusively by footballers.

How did the voting work?
The 2024 FIFPRO World 11 was voted for by professional footballers from 70 countries. FIFPRO and affiliated player unions distributed unique links that gave players access to a digital voting platform.
Women’s football players were asked to vote for their peers based on their performances from 21 August 2023 to 10 August 2024 inclusive. Players in the World 11 must have appeared in at least 20 official matches during that period.
Footballers picked the three players who, in their opinion, were the most outstanding in each of the following positions: goalkeeper, defence, midfield and forward.
The goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards with the most votes in their position made it into the World 11. The 11th spot was assigned to the outfield player with the next highest number of votes.
