  • Find out how the voting process works and when the winners will be revealed

The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFPRO Women’s World 11 are all-star teams made up of the world's leading footballers – voted by the players, for the players.

Since 2005, the World 11 has depicted the most outstanding footballers in each position and is the only global football award decided exclusively by the players.

How does the process work?

The World 11 is voted for by professional footballers from around the world. FIFPRO and affiliated player unions distribute unique links that give players from professional football clubs access to a digital voting platform.

Footballers pick the three players who, in their opinion, were the most outstanding in each of the following positions: goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards.

The goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards with the most votes in their position make it into the World 11. The 11th spot is assigned to the outfield player with the next highest number of votes.

Players are free to choose any of their peers. The voting tool contains a suggestion list, but players are allowed to add other names if they are not mentioned on said list.

What is the period that players are judged on?

The FIFPRO Men’s World 11 is comprised of the top 11 men’s players from around the globe. Each position is based on their performances during the period from 21 August 2023 to 14 July 2024 inclusive. Players must have appeared in at least 30 official matches during that period to be eligible.

The FIFPRO Women’s World 11 is comprised of the top 11 women’s players from around the globe. Each position is based on their performances during the period from 21 August 2023 to 10 August 2024 inclusive. Players must have appeared in at least 20 official matches during that period to be eligible.

What happens next?

On Monday 2 December, FIFPRO will release squad lists showing the 26 finalists who have received the most votes for the FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFPRO Women’s World 11.

The 11 players within those squads who receive the most votes in their position are then selected for the World 11; to be revealed on FIFPRO’s digital platforms on Monday 9 December 2024.
